Product Details

This conceptual overview introduces and explains the concept of geodatabases-object-oriented data models-which are introduced in ArcInfo 8, the world's most advanced Geographic Information System (GIS) software package. Included are explanations of what models are and how they represent reality, how GIS data is structured in digital form, extending the power of databases, and making models of everything from streams to electrical power grids. Users will be able to make their datasets "smarter" by defining the relationships between them and endowing them with specific behaviors. These new characteristics are explained and highlighted with hundreds of map illustrations and diagrams.

Classic Textbook - Mrs Rob - Illinois
This is the book you need if you want to understand the WHY behind the HOW. It is especially insightful when trying to wrap your brain around what each TOPOLOGICAL realtionship looks like.

It is a little dry and theorhetical, but very extensive and from a classroom standpoint is a MUST in my mind.

The Deep realities of the Mid East Struggles - W. Bronston MD - Carmichael, CA United States
This slim but definitive book was an absolute breakthrough in understanding what is really happening in the Mid East where our corporate media completely obscures and atomizes the material realities of what drives perpetual war in our times. Here, module by module, are the facts about water, transporation, ethnic histories, demographics, politics, ecological influences, financial competitions and the structure of the oil industry on the ground over which mayhem is strategiclally fomented. What is particularly wonderful is being able to focus on specific pieces of the mosaic of agendas and issues that are beautifully formatted for real ease of access and a sense of being able to master, at a rudimentary operational level, how to understand and simply share with others information that demystifies imperial politics and propaganda. Whatever one seeks to get basically informed, this piece of scholarly and essentialized research and exposition is in my opinion a must to simply feel oriented and possess a rational fraemework and vocabulary to have some stability and stance about the central dynamic of 20th and 21st Century human affairs. William Bronston, MD

Computational Geometry: Algorithms and Applications

Computational Geometry: Algorithms and Applications

gotoshop

Product Details

This well-accepted introduction to computational geometry is a textbook for high-level undergraduate and low-level graduate courses. The focus is on algorithms and hence the book is well suited for students in computer science and engineering. Motivation is provided from the application areas: all solutions and techniques from computational geometry are related to particular applications in robotics, graphics, CAD/CAM, and geographic information systems. For students this motivation will be especially welcome. Modern insights in computational geometry are used to provide solutions that are both efficient and easy to understand and implement. All the basic techniques and topics from computational geometry, as well as several more advanced topics, are covered. The book is largely self-contained and can be used for self-study by anyone with a basic background in algorithms.

In this third edition, besides revisions to the second edition, new sections discussing Voronoi diagrams of line segments, farthest-point Voronoi diagrams, and realistic input models have been added.
